Our region · the bench

Birmingham is our patch. Parcels do the miles.

Almost nothing is handed over in person. Devices go by tracked, insured post to the Manchester intake lab, so the real limit is the courier network and not a county boundary. The West Midlands is where the work comes from, not where it stops.

If your town is not on the list, nothing changes. Every postcode runs the same way: you ring or send the form, the parcel travels tracked and insured, and it reaches the bench the day it lands. The reviews on this site come from Sandwell, Dudley, Walsall, Coventry and Wolverhampton.

Twenty-eight towns, one bench.

They set out what that part of the region tends to send us, how a job is run, and the questions asked most often there. One bench does all of it, and the free diagnosis applies no matter which postcode the box left.

North up the M6, the intake laboratory a Birmingham parcel goes to is Manchester Data Recovery — the same bench, part of the same company, Easy Data Recovery Ltd.

The questions people ask first.

No counter, no shopPosted or dropped in, the device is booked in at the intake lab on the day it arrives and goes onto the bench from there. Nothing sits in a queue on a shelf.
The postmark is irrelevantA box posted from Worcester is handled the same as one carried in to the lab door: free diagnosis, one fixed written price, a checked return.
Company hardware, any siteA RAID array, a NAS box or evidence material moves out of a Black Country industrial unit or a Colmore Business District office under the same tracked, insured cover. Flag it as urgent when you ring and the job is marked before the box has left the building.
One roof, start to finishNo third party ever sees the drive and nothing gets passed further down a chain. The diagnosis, the imaging and the recovery happen on our own benches, and a single case number stays with the device from booking in to going back out.

What people ask before they post a drive.

Do you cover my postcode?

Yes, if a tracked courier reaches your door. The bulk of the work comes from the B postcodes, the Black Country, Coventry and Worcestershire, though boxes turn up from every corner of the country, and the cost of sending it back is ours.

Can the post damage it further?

Packing decides that, not distance. An external drive can stay in its enclosure and a NAS can travel whole; a disk pulled from a laptop or PC goes bare. Either way it wants firm padding on every side, plus tracking and insurance. The shipping page has the detail.

Will someone collect it?

No. There is no van and no courier round. Tracked post beats a driver on time and on the number of things that can go astray, and you can hand the device in at the Manchester intake lab yourself on a weekday. For servers, big NAS boxes or evidence material, ring first and we will settle the route.

I am nowhere near Birmingham — is a local firm better?

Mileage counts for almost nothing here. What counts is the hands on the drive and whether you are told the truth about it. Your parcel is opened and looked at the morning it lands.

It starts the same way every time.

Phone us or fill in the form. After that the only thing making a journey is the box.
